Summary:


The Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS) published a regulatory directive titled "Principles for Effective Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting" in 2013, which DB and all other global systemically important banks (G-SIBs), must comply with.


DB has defined a compliance framework that reinforces and strengthens practices in risk data aggregation and risk reporting - to improve the quality of information used for key risk decision-making, and ultimately to evidence compliance to the principles in BCBS 239.


This role sits within CRO COO which works in conjunction with the Divisional Risk, Finance & Treasury teams to operationalise / ensure adherence to the RDA&RR Compliance Framework, and to achieve compliance to BCBS 239.

The RDA&RR Remediation Oversight Lead will work closely with the Head of Independent Validation to provide central oversight across the remediation lifecycle (identification, planning, delivery tracking, closure) needed to achieve / maintain BCBS 239 Compliance - based upon recurring areas of non-compliance and the BCBS 239 self-assessment.

The RDA&RR Remediation Oversight Lead will also play a key role in providing ongoing status updates to RDA&RR Governance Forums.


Responsibilities:


  • Construct and maintain an overall programme delivery plan (in excel or Microsoft Project)
  • Interact with project and programme managers to ascertain the status of deliverables and dependencies
  • Identify potential risks / issues with delivering programmes and escalate to the appropriate governance forums
  • Prepare concise status updates on a nominated change book of work as well as on the overall remediation view to Senior Management and various RDA&RR related Governance Forums
  • Chair / actively participate in meetings with divisional stakeholders on their specific remediation book of work (as required)
  • Work with the Independent Validation team to identify emerging trends where additional remediation may be required
  • Provide independent assurance over the closure of remediation points, and appropriateness of remediation plans

Requirements:


Work experience:


  • University degree or appropriate professional experience
  • Good understanding of project management in financial services
  • Understanding / experience of the financial services industry with a track record of excellence
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment, frameworks and compliance requirements associated with financial services
  • Experience of Quality Assurance and/or Audit Assurance (preferable)

Competencies:


  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills, including with senior stakeholders
  • Very good communication skills with ability to facilitate targeted dialogue between a variety of stakeholders and across multiple levels of the organisation to drive change & deliverables
  • Ability to think outside given procedures and processes, questioning and analysing current practices combined with an ability to innovate and provide creative solutions
  • Experience in project management either from a RtB or CtB perspective
  • Very good English language skills verbally and in writing (required)
  • Ability to manage escalation of issues in timely manner
  • Risk domain knowledge (preferable)
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint
