Position Summary

The general role for the System Administrator includes IT troubleshooting and managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure, along with some user support responsibilities.

It shall be noted that LIN SCAN has Subsidiaries around the world and responsibility of the System Administrator is to ensure that all IT tasks and projects are executed according to the plan, IT strategy and policy approved by the Corporate Office.


General responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity and safeguard LIN SCAN trade secrets.
  • Respect and support fellow employees at all times.
  • Respond to changes positively (technical advancements as well as organizational adaptations).
  • Follow LIN SCAN's Process Flow Charts and interact with other departments when required.
  • Assure timely and accurate reporting to LIN SCAN IT Department.

Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities

  • Fujitsu, HP rack servers management;
  • Fujitsu Ethernus DX class FC fabric data storage;
  • Brocade FC SAN switch fabric management;
  • Fujitsu Tape library and Veeam backup system management;
  • VMWare cluster management;
  • Users support via Service Desk solution;
  • PFsense (FreeBSD, Linux) management;
  • Microsoft AD and remote sites (replication, GPO) management;
  • Cisco Catalyst L2\3 internal network infrastructure management;
  • Kaspersky Security Suite server and policies management;
  • Keeping instructions and policies up to date;
  • Keeping assets management DB up to date;
  • Good user support and communication skills;
  • Contractors and service agreements management;
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013 management and support.

Skills/Experience:


  • University degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certifications in Microsoft technologies.
  • 5+ years of system administration experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to restrain problem area and eliminate it ASAP.
  • Sufficient work experience at Service Desk, help users to solve specific workrelated tasks.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server, MS Exchange 2013+, Zimbra Suite, AD group policy and GPO.
  • Deep knowledge of server's hardware, data storage and fiber channel networks principals.
  • Good knowledge of networking, including OSI level 2\3 switching, VLANs, routing, subnetting and port grouping.
