About Aksh Tyagi:
I am a final-year B.Sc. Cardiac Perfusion Technology student currently completing my clinical internship in a cardiac OT environment, with structured exposure to cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures and perfusion management protocols. During my internship, I have been actively involved in CPB circuit preparation, priming, anticoagulation management (ACT monitoring), intraoperative perfusion monitoring, and weaning processes under senior supervision. I have gained supervised exposure to CPB initiation in urgent clinical scenarios, reinforcing protocol-based decision making and situational readiness. My clinical training also includes hands-on exposure to IABP management, including supervised catheter removal and assistance during insertion procedures. Working closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and senior perfusionists has strengthened my understanding of multidisciplinary coordination, patient safety standards, and OT workflow efficiency. I am particularly interested in developing expertise in adult cardiac perfusion, emergency readiness, perfusion safety optimization, and evidence-based practice in cardiac surgery settings. I aim to begin my professional journey as a Junior Perfusionist in a structured cardiac center where I can contribute responsibly, continue refining my clinical skills, and uphold high standards of perfusion practice. Open to opportunities that value discipline, learning attitude, and protocol-driven patient care.
Experience
Through my academic training and supervised clinical environment, I have developed a strong "theoretical foundation and protocol-based understanding of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB)", including CPB initiation workflows, emergency re-access/reopen scenarios, and principles of "intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP)" support. My exposure has been strictly "observational and supervised", and I fully respect the importance of patient safety, team coordination, and working within defined scopes of practice.
