About Dr Dipak Ganvir:
I am public health professional with over 15 year of experience working with grassroot level organizations, State and Central Ministry of Health and family welfare, UNICEF, UNDP India for providing techno-managerial support in maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health as well as innovations. Currently i am state lead for health care cooperation between Government of Norway and Government of India, ‘Norway India Partnership Initiative’ (NIPI) in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Experience
My journey in public health started with the health sector reforms in the state of Chattisagarh with State Health Resource Center (SHRC) a technical support unit of Department of Health and Family Welfare Govt. of CG. I grateful that, i was a part of Mitanin programme provided techno-managerial support in capacity building of 60 thousand Mitanins on Newborn and Child Survival progrramme (NCSP). I was involved in training and module development, facilitating training all over the state. Taken many initiatives, established supportive supervision mechanism with trainers, established Mitanin Help Desks at all FRUs for facilitating referral from community. This programme has a major contribution in bringing down the newborn and child mortality in the state.
I had worked with UNICEF Mumbai Maharashtra, as consultant in Tribal District Nandurbar for accelerating mother and child survival through community programme. I was fortune to design and pilot some of the key initiatives in hard core tribal district, which were further scaled-up by government of Maharashtra in tribal blocks in the state. Demonstrated the decentralized health and livelihood planning in 1000 villages, Child Friendly Gram Panchayat, Deepshikha- an informal adolescent life skill education programme, MCHN training for front line workers ANM, ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers (AAA) for team building, Free referral transport for PW and Under five children, Kishori Shakti Yojana (Adolescent empowerment scheme), Village level child development Centers (VCDCs) etc.
Then i worked with United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) as state programme officer under NIPI Newborn project and facilitate the implementation of game Changer Innovations in newborn and child health which are part for policies today, Viz. Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT), Family participatory Care (FPC), Home Base Newborn Care + (HBNC+) now implemented all over country as HBYC etc.
Worked with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) at Child Health Division as Sr. Consultant for community based programms (HBNC and HBYC)
Currently, leading a state team of Bilateral health care cooperation between Government of Norway and India (NIPI) and supporting state in MNCH services, Innovations, Scientific Documentations etc.
Education
I am Master in Health Administration (MHA) from Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) and currently pursuing Doctorate in Public Health for TISS Mumbai, Maharashtra.
