Dr. Ravi Kiran has been working at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad since 2015. He has 22+ years of experience as a doctor. He completed his MBBS in the year 2000 from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. He completed his Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Western Kentucky University, USA in the year 2003. Here he acquired complete Knowledge in different areas of public health like epidemiology, health awareness, biostatistics, sexual health, international health, and more. And therefore he got a distinct outlook on disease from a community and public health point of view on behalf of nailing on one person at a time. And he completed his MD in the year 2006 from Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, USA.  He collaborated with doctors all over the world here and also completed a project during his training on Hand hygiene and rising resistance to rats in the hospital and community. 

His interest in Infectious Diseases have increased by doing a rotation at the reputable University of Chicago. Due to his interest, he worked at an HIV clinic and also published a paper on Cryptococcal Infectious at the National Conference of the American College of Physicians, Philadelphia in the year 2006. He worked for 1 year at Lawndale Health Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital, Chicago, IL, USA, and worked 10 years at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL, USA, and spent 5 years at Centegra Hospital, McHenry, IL, USA. He has been teaching ID fellows, MD general medicine, and DNB general medicine students from 2015 to the present at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. He also guided many students on projects from the US in India. He is a teaching Instructor in Medvarsity, Hyderabad and Apollo Institute of Medical Science and research. He has memberships in various Medical Associations like the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), Clinical Infectious Disease Society of India (CIDS), AIDS Society if India (ASI), the HIV Medical Association of India, and the Indian Medical association. He has substantial experience with treating the critical list of patients in ICU and transplant patients. A wide increase in harmful agents like bacteria and fungi led him to the prudent use of antibiotics. He has done treatment for thousands of patients during covid 19 pandemic and many of them recovered with no post-Covid complications. He has a particular interest in treating Viral infections like COVID, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Resistant Bacterial and Fungal infections. Many of the HIV patients are treated by him and living normally. He also achieved success in treating patients with extensive drug resistance by minimizing side effects from toxic drugs. He is a keen presenter in many conferences, hospital meetings, and webinars in Hyderabad, nationally, and internationally. He also participated in many radio and TV programs on various topics of Infectious Diseases. He also had a good experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) from the year 2003. The EMR like Meditech, VA EMR, EPIC, etc. He also participated in rolling out EMR in multiple hospitals.
