A highly efficient Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineering Professional with over 40 years of expertise in Managing Mechanical and Piping Engineering assignments for Chemical, Petrochemical projects in India and overseas, Worked across levels with organizations like Simon India Limited, Mott Macdonald, Sriram Projects, Western India Industries, APV Engineering Company, Jessop & Company Ltd in India and Simon Carves in UK & SABIC in KSA.

I have executed total activities of the Piping Engineering group by doing Planning, scheduling and monitoring of the activities, estimated Man hour requirement for projects, training requirement fixing & training Co-ordination, preparation of Man Power Budget & Department budget, Man power recruitment criteria, recruitment Interview, fixing of Department’s Software requirement like PDS, PDMS, Ceaser-II, introduction of new software & coordination for software training, appraisals for Department members, Standardization, Proposal Engineering including costing.  Co-ordination & Guidance for Detail engineering of the total piping system to assure proper technical quality and fulfilment of the project schedule.

Guided team of engineers and designers and successfully executed Design Planning, Input Review, Plant Layout, General Arrangement of Piping systems, 3D Modeling, Detail Engineering for Cross Country Pipe Lines, Design Review & Verification, Piping Material Engineering, Piping Flexibility Analysis, Preparation of tender, technical specification for erection, fabrication, testing etc., evaluation & recommendation of tenders & proposals, co-ordination with client, contractor, manufacturer, site & other inter Engineering groups involved in the Projects. The list will remain incomplete without mentioning Engineering of Fire-fighting system. Over the years my passion was to mentor, guide and train young budding engineers and designers, proud to find these engineers standing tall in the professional world.

An Engineering & Project Management Consultant of Process Plants, Industries & Architectural Buildings

31 Months (1997- 2000) as Principal Engineer (Piping)

Nature of work done:  Leading the activities of the piping group.  This includes planning scheduling and monitoring of total activities of the piping group.

Nature of work done:  Leading the mechanical engineering dep’t. Of the organisation.  Activities include planning, scheduling and monitoring of total activities of the mechanical engineering deptt.  Distribution of work within the department, co-ordination with other depts. And project sites.  Conducting training and development program for department personnel including computerization; evaluation of work of the department personnel.

4. JOINT CONSORTIUM OF ENGINEERS (Consultant of Process Oriented Projects (mainly for Petrochemical Plant.)

19 months (1991 – 1993) as Sr. Design Engineer

Nature of work done:  Piping system design: Equipment design like Pressure Vessel, Tank etc.  Selection of material size and type of Pipes. Fittings, Valves etc.  Preparation of Bill of Material, Technical specification for NIT, preparation of Pre-Bid documents including specifications, enquiry, estimation of quantities and costing.  Supports design & stress analysis etc.

5. WESTERN INDIA INDUSTRIES LIMITED (Project Contractor for Fire Fighting System of Industrial Plants)

15 months (1990 - !991) as Sr. Design Engineer

Nature of work done:  Fire Fighting system design, hydraulic calculations for piping, pressure vessel and tank design, selection of material, size and type of pipes, fittings valves and other equipment, selection of pumps, data sheet preparation for vendors and clients,  coordination with purchase and project department.

Nature of work done:  Design, supervision of draftsman, checking of drawings, weight calculations and material take off etc.

9. JESSOP & COMPANY LTD. (Manufacturer of heavy machineries, Wagon, Coach,           Cranes etc.) 1974 to 1978

24 months as engineering apprentice during study of Mechanical Engineering from 1974 to 1978

Nature of work done:  Familiarity with the machining work in machine shop, foundry works, maintenance of machines, welding techniques, production control and planning, design & drawing in mechanical drawing office.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION                    :     Passed Higher Secondary (Science) Examination in the year 1974 under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATION                          :     Passed4 years Mechanical Engineering(SW) Course in the year 1978 from Birla Institute of Technology, Kolkata, under State Council for Engineering and Technical Education Government of West Bengal.
