I have been involved in deposition of perovskite type oxide thin films using RF magnetron sputtering and their superlattice heterojunctions. We seek to explore the electronic transport and magnetic interactions of these systems. Hence I have spent a considerable amount of time working on deposition methods, thin film characterizations and particularly the MPMS-3 SQUID magnetometer. Here we investigate the strain-induced magnetic properties of bare and Sr doped LaCoO3 thin films on Si/SiO2 substrates. Further, the electrical transport properties of these films are studies using temperature dependent four probe method and the magnetic interactions are explored using isothermal M-H and ZFC FC protocols.

I performed various analyses on thin film  samples and became familiar with various technical skills and charecterisation methods including UV-V spectroscopy, SEM, XRD, XPS, Raman, profilometry etc. I gained a firm knowledge in various thin film deposition techniques such as sputtering (RF and DC), probe station (electrical measurements), spin coating and dip coating, CVD and seebeck measurements.

 BS-MS dual degree course student at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research – Thiruvananthapuram. I have Physics as my major specialization along with Mathematics as a minor subject. I will have completed my BS-MS degree by April 2022.
