About Pradeepa H D:
I am Dr. Pradeepa H D, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Siddaganga Medical College and Research Institute, Tumakuru. With a strong foundation in medical pharmacology and over a decade of academic and clinical experience, I am passionate about teaching and research in pharmacological sciences. I have had the privilege of teaching MBBS undergraduates, nursing, and allied health students, focusing on building their clinical pharmacology knowledge with evidence-based learning strategies.
My academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and a PG Diploma in Clinical Research. I have actively contributed to interdisciplinary research with a focus on temperature signal analysis, artificial intelligence in diagnostics, and pharmacovigilance. My research has led to numerous national and international publications and conference presentations.
With additional training in biomedical research, biostatistics, and machine learning, I am committed to integrating modern technologies into pharmacological education and research. I am also involved in several ongoing research projects exploring drug safety, diagnostic modeling, and diabetes of the exocrine pancreas (Type 3c DM).
I strive to inspire future medical professionals by delivering comprehensive, clinically relevant pharmacology education and aim to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of pharmacological sciences.
Experience
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology with over 10 years of experience in medical teaching and clinical research. My academic journey has taken me through various reputed institutions, including Kasturba Medical College (Manipal), where I completed my Ph.D., and esteemed teaching roles at Sapthagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, MVJ Medical College, and World College of Medical Sciences.
I have taught pharmacology to MBBS undergraduates, nursing students, and allied health science students, with a focus on integrating clinical relevance, critical thinking, and research-based learning into my teaching. My experience also includes a significant tenure as a Clinical Pharmacologist at Nanjappa Hospital and Institute of Allied Health Sciences, where I was actively involved in clinical pharmacology services and research mentorship.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have been engaged in multiple research projects, particularly in the areas of temperature pattern analysis, artificial intelligence in diagnostics, pharmacovigilance, and diabetes of the exocrine pancreas (Type 3c DM). I have presented my work at national and international conferences and have published several peer-reviewed articles in indexed journals.
With a commitment to both academic excellence and innovation, I aim to continue contributing to medical education, clinical pharmacology, and interdisciplinary research that advances patient care and learning outcomes.
Education
I hold a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, under the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, where my research focused on biomedical signal analysis and diagnostic modeling using 24-hour tympanic temperature data. I also completed an M.Sc. in Medical Pharmacology from the same institution, which laid the foundation for my academic and research pursuits.
To enhance my research capabilities, I pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research with training in clinical data management, pharmacovigilance, and SAS. Additionally, I have completed certified courses in biostatistics, epidemiology, and biomedical research, which have significantly strengthened my analytical and methodological skills.
This academic foundation has enabled me to integrate teaching, clinical practice, and innovative research in pharmacology.
