About Priyanka Das:

I am a researcher, dealing with taxonomy and zoo-geographic studies of insects, especially ladybird beetles. I have extensive knowledge of survey in Northeastern states of India for collecting insects and there habitat information. Morphology of insects and their role in eco-system and geographical distribution analysis are part of my study. 

Experience

I have been working in Zoological Survey of India for last 7 years, this institution is a Global museum where insects are curated for more than 100 years. Studying the curated insects  which hold history  are most valuable part of my research. Surveying in remote areas of India, like in states of Northeast (Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura), Jharkhand,  West Bengal including North Bengal Hills to Sundarbans had enriched my understanding of field. I have published 26 Peer-reviewed journal articles, 2 Books, 31 Book Chapters, 3 Abstracts and 5 Popular articles. I have also described 6 new species.

Education

I have awarded with Ph.D. degree in Zoology from University of Calcutta.
