Raghav Joshi

I am an Experience Designer with a background in Architecture. During the past years as a student and working professional in the field of Architecture, I came to realize that I was inclined more toward the user journey analysis and design rather than the result of the built form in architecture.

The skills that I have gained as an architect are irreplaceable and I see how these skills give me an edge in this domain. Teamwork, user research and design principles are some of the learnings that I bring to this field from my experience.

As I venture into the field of User Experience Design, I strongly believe it allows me to concentrate on the journey of the user while also being able to watch my designs come to life at a faster pace than before.

During my studies and professional journey, I've completed courses on design thinking and UX design through platforms like GrowthSchool and Coursera. My practical experience includes a six-month tenure as a UX Researcher at Jar, a fintech company, followed by a year of freelancing where I worked on various projects primarily rooted in planning, renovations and renders, thereby improving my management and people skills. My ventures in UX include a few projects I took up to build my portfolio including AllFlix, FitBuddy, EasyAisle, and ExpressDrop. These projects allowed me to hone my skills in Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, and provided me with a solid foundation in user research, interface design, and prototyping.

Design has always been my passion, and it has driven me towards a creative and problem-solving career. With a degree in Bachelors in Architecture and an enthusiasm for technology, I am now eager to explore the possibilities of interaction design and industrial design. The education I received in architecture trained me to have a keen eye for detail and appreciation of the intersection between aesthetics and functionality.

Throughout my architecture degree, I have been interested in the culmination of design with engineering, and technology. I was introduced to the world of design, where I found my passion for creating spaces and products that improve people’s lives.  In addition to my professional experiences, my extracurricular activities have also allowed me to explore my interests in design. Competing in design competitions, such as those organized by TDB, Archdais,  and NASA India, have challenged me to think creatively and collaboratively while also pushing me out of my comfort zone. I also enjoy designing and making furniture in my spare time, as it allows me to apply my design skills to a more tangible medium.
