I'm someone who's always been drawn to digging deep into things, figuring out the hidden patterns and stories behind them. I graduated with a BA in Defence and Strategic Studies because research and analysis have been my thing since forever—it just felt right to channel that into something strategic and protective. Then I stumbled upon Web3, and it clicked: that same defensive mindset, backed by sharp analysis, fit perfectly into the world of blockchain and crypto. It became my passion, plain and simple.

Back in 2020, I started messing around with this as a hobby, putting in 10-15 hours a week just tracing transactions on tools like Etherscan and Solana Explorer. I went from scratching the surface on basics to breaking down real-world hacks and breaches. It's all about protecting these decentralized systems —that's where my drive comes from. I've dived into smart contract vulnerabilities on my own time, just to get better at spotting the weak spots.

Over the years, I've gotten pretty handy at picking out suspicious activities, cutting down on financial crime risks, and using data to sniff out fraud patterns. I've worked with blockchain forensics gear like MetaSleuth, Dune Analytics, and Arkham Intelligence ,Etherscan, BscScan, Solana explorers to track dodgy wallet moves and transaction flows. I love poring over tokenomics, whitepapers, and project roadmaps to flag potential risks, and I've kept an eye on P2P markets to catch fraud or money laundering vibes early.

If I had to slap a title on it, I'd go with Independent Crypto AML Researcher or maybe Web3 Financial Crime Analyst (Self-Directed). It's not just work; it's what gets me fired up—unearthing the truth in a space that's wild and full of possibilities.

My journey into AML began through my deep interest in Web3 technologies and their real-world use cases. Exploring this space daily, I’ve learned to trace wallet flows, study DeFi typologies, and engage with industry leaders to sharpen my understanding of crypto compliance. Alongside this, I have hands-on experience in AML investigations and financial crime compliance (crypto ecosystems). My work includes monitoring suspicious transactions, conducting wallet screenings, preparing SARs, and analyzing cases linked to darknet markets, scams, terrorist financing, OFAC, child exploitation, and high-risk IP activity. I also have exposure to KYT platforms (Elliptic, Chainalysis, TRM) and regularly use blockchain intelligence tools like Arkham Intelligence, MetaSleuth, and Etherscan to investigate illicit flows and strengthen compliance frameworks

I studied BA Defence and Strategic Studies because I was always interested in protecting people from threats. During that journey, I discovered Web3 (crypto) and decided to dive deep into crypto compliance, as I believe Web3 is the future of finance and the foundation for the next generation. I want to dedicate my career and life to this field. Along the way, I’ve also been drawn to AI and ML, and I’m actively learning and experimenting with how they can be applied in AML and compliance. I keep updating myself every day to stay ahead in this fast-growing world of artificial intelligence,for instance, TRM Labs recently launched the Beacon Network, a real-time crypto crime response system working hand in hand with law enforcement and major exchanges to flag suspicious wallet addresses, trace flows across blockchains, and stop illicit funds before they can be cashed out. Other compliance providers are doing similar work-sharing threat intelligence, building tools, and helping make Web3 safer.
