About Swaminathan Ganesan:
I am Dr. G. Swaminathan, a highly motivated and accomplished professional in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. With a strong academic background and extensive research experience, I have made significant contributions in the area of functional fatigue behavior of shape memory alloys. My expertise lies in understanding the degradation of shape memory properties in alloys under thermal and thermomechanical cycling conditions and developing strategies to enhance their functional fatigue resistance and lifespan.
Throughout my academic journey, I have obtained a Post-Doctoral Equivalent Fellowship and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras. My doctoral research focused on investigating the functional fatigue behavior of NiTi-based shape memory alloys and discovering a new phenomenon called the strain memory effect. I have published several research papers in renowned journals and presented my work at national and international conferences, earning recognition and awards for my contributions.
In addition to my research accomplishments, I have gained valuable teaching experience as an Assistant Professor, where I have successfully handled various engineering subjects and mentored students. I have also taken on leadership roles, such as leading the Science Club and coordinating accreditation processes. As a passionate educator, I believe in imparting knowledge and fostering the growth of young minds.
