Job Description Summary:
Responsible for activities and processes that help the sales organization achieve business objectives.

In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, configuring, maintaining, and testing demonstration systems of GE Digital Grid solutions.

Specifically, you will focus on our Transmission and Distribution suite of solutions ensuring our Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) demonstration environments are tested and ready to show the latest capabilities.

You will work closely with solution consultants and product management to ensure customer desired outcomes are demonstrable in the systems.

You will also provide support troubleshooting issues on the demo systems and create technical collateral required by the solution consultants.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and test the demonstration systems of GE Digital Grid solutions focusing on EMS, ADMS and SCADA.
  • Collaborate with solution consultants, sales teams, and product management to define demo requirements for our solution suite.
  • Interface with presales solution consultants globally to train them on new demonstration scenarios, system startup steps, basic troubleshooting and standard demo scenarios.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering on product issues, feature improvement and/or product gaps based on your experience or feedback from solution consultants and sales teams.
  • Deploy and maintain demonstration systems in the Cloud.
  • Expand the set of standard demo scenarios and provide feedback on ways they can be improved.
  • Write scripts to automate any system set up steps needed to be done by the solution consultants.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with team members, customers, and leadership.
  • Maintain & continuously update technical skills and knowledge
  • Work independently as well as part of the team, is flexible and takes initiative.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus 8 years of experience OR
Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering with a focus in power systems or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus at least 10 years of experience


Desired Characteristics

  • Crossplatform experience (Linux, Windows) and the expertise to identify and resolve integration issues
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or PowerShell
  • Good understanding of control room operations in electric utilities.
  • Fluent in English language including oral, reading and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of revision control systems (GIT) and repository managers (Artifactory, Nexus)

Nice to Have

  • Good understanding of power systems with focus on Transmission and Distribution Network Applications like State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Power flow, Fault Location, Isolation and Service Restoration, Load and Volt Var Management and Training Simulator.
  • Experienced deploying or managing containerized environments with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines and devops tooling
  • Experience deploying into or maintaining cloud environments using AWS.
