The project is an ASIC validation board.


It includes the following interfaces:

  • Host interface Gen 3 PCIe at 8GB/s
  • DDR4 at 1600 and 2 Rank
  • Chip to Chip interface
  • Flash Interface

The scope would include:


  • PI check for
  • Host Interface
  • Chip to Chip
  • DDR
  • Flash
  • SI check for
  • Flash
interface. Need to provide rules and guidance to layout to achieve the expected TM data rate and verify SI quality once the layout is completed

  • Host interface SI.
  • DDR
interface SI.


Expected outcome:


  • Simulation reports
  • Extracted board sparameters models
  • Basic shell experience with Linux environment basic shell commands (mostly in order of importance)
  • Secure shell (ssh)
  • Command execution (cd, rm, cp, mv, less, cat, tar)
  • Permissions (chmod, chown)
  • Symbolic links (ln)
- bash/tcsh scripting basics

  • HSPICE and Waveview knowledge
  • HSPICE file syntax
  • HSPICE options
  • Working with IO netlists, IBIS models and sparameters files
  • Solving convergence problems
  • Running simulations and fixing simulation issues
  • Analyzing simulation results using Waveview
  • Running scripts in Waveview
  • Medium level experience with Mentor Hyperlinx (
    Nimbic)
    3D extraction tool
  • Tool setup including:
i. Allegro data base upload

ii. Stackup parameters review and validation with the Allegro design file

iii. Port setup

iv. Tool running

  • Meshing problems resolution
  • Sparameters file quality review and fixes
  • User experience with Excel and PowerPoint for simulation reports generation
  • Keysight ADS experience second priority
