livelihoods of the poor. With support from DFID (Govt. of UK), ACCESS was established in March 2006

as a professional new generation agency to contribute to and support poverty reduction in India. ACCESS

works to accelerate collaboration and drive narratives that impact economic inclusion and create well-being

among vulnerable communities across markets.

Access program on financial health i3-Access is seeking a qualified team member to work in the

space of data and research related to financial health

**Position Summary: The Data and Research Associate will work linked to financial inclusion and financial health research.

He/she will be part of the team that will produce, consolidate and communicates research and data on

supply, demand, and regulation in the space of inclusive finance and in areas that contribute to financial

health Research will be gender, age, and other thematic specific. The team produces well-researched and

targeted communications and knowledge products to influence policymakers, the private sector,

practitioners, and research communities.

Overall, the Data and Research Associate will work on demand, supply, and policy-related data collection,

research, and analysis of data on different segments. He/she would be working closely with the Data and

Research Specialist and other team members working on the agenda.


Responsibilities:


Support the implementation of the data and research strategy for financial health, including how the

COP hub will establish and maintain partnerships around data.

  • Work on undertaking thematic research based on multiple data sources including big data for sourcing and
sharing of data and analysis;

  • Develop data collection and reporting mechanisms to better understand financial health of
different segments across markets like small-holder farmers, women and women enterprises, gig workers,

elderly, and others;

  • Work on research and data collection, and/or additional surveys and market research where necessary,
ensuring gender disaggregated (big) data collection, to support financial inclusion and financial health

agenda.


Knowledge Management

  • Identify areas where data and research (insights) can improve efficiency, encourage collaboration and
create incentives to innovate across countries on financial health and digital finance and economies for

last-mile customer segments MSMEs, women, youth, migrants, and specific sustainable development goals

SDG1 poverty reduction, SDGs 5 Gender equality, SDG 8 inclusive economic growth and decent workand

SDG 7 energy access.

  • Work on methodologies for data analytics and research, research dissemination, and data communications
on financial health through the development of ICT tools;

  • Ensure that activities, research, and workshops/seminars are gender equitable, and highlight the specific
priorities or experiences of women;

  • Communicate relevant lessons and feedback within Access to support the development of a strategic approach

Coordination and Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with the Communications Specialist where relevant, to generate data to be used in
infographics, videos, and other communication tools to facilitate the use of data for advocacy purposes.

  • Ensure the Data team supports FH team members, acting as crosscutting communication and information
tool for improved decision-making and program implementation, by providing informed research and data.

**Education, Skills & Experience: - Master's degree in economics, public/business administration, social sciences, or related fields.

  • Minimum 35 years of relevant experience at the national or international level;
  • Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools and methodologies and data analysis
and research;

  • Ability to develop research and data analysis approaches, methodologies, and databases;
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis capacities. Experience with statistical analysis tools,
communication methods for representing data; Working knowledge of current developments in

microfinance and MSME development is an advantage;

  • Experience in project management, coordinating projects, and supporting stakeholder engagement
related to financial inclusion and financial sector development;

  • Strong networking capabilities and ability to associate him/herself with a range of actors (including
policymakers, FSPs and TSPs, and donors) with a view to building relations and facilitating links;

  • Experiences with similar assignments in developing countries, in Asia or Africa will be an advantage;
  • Excellent computer literacy, including research skills, including the ability to work regularly with MS Word,
Excel, Outlook,
