- Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Quantity Takeoff: Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs for various civil elements such as concrete, steel, excavation, and earthwork to determine the required quantities for cost estimation.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Obtain quotes and proposals from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate bids for accuracy and competitiveness, and negotiate pricing to secure the best value for the project.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to identify areas of potential cost savings and optimization opportunities without compromising quality and safety standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess project risks and uncertainties that may impact cost estimates, and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
- Government Projects Expertise: Must have prepared estimates for government projects and possess knowledge of District Schedule of Rates (DSR), State Schedule of Rates (SSR) rates, and government technical sanction processes.
- Liaison with Government Officers: Act as a liaison with government officers for project approvals, technical sanctions, and other regulatory processes, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimation Engineer or similar role in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on government civil projects.
- Minimum Experience- 5Y+
- Must have the knowledge of government project estimates
- Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, quantity takeoff methods, and construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, Primavera, etc).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating costs.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards in the construction industry.
