As the Controller professional in our Markets Control Office team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm.


The product control function provides support to the financial controllers and trading desks, ensuring that the P&L, balance sheet, and month end close procedures are done correctly and accurately.


Job

Responsibilities:


  • Production, preparation and reporting of the daily P&L and risk
  • Understanding, producing and explaining daily P&L into constituent risk components whilst investigating any issues as required
  • Regular interaction with the front office to obtain sign off and deal with any ad hoc requests and queries.
  • Liaising with accounting control group to help investigate any issues around daily monitoring and review of the general ledger to reported P&L together with Balance sheet substantiation
  • Managing projects and initiatives related to all of the above as well as larger crossbusiness programmes
  • Being an active part of the team, generating ideas and suggestions for improvements etc.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or economics is a plus
  • Minimum 4.5 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Ideally some experience in managing others and/or projects, in either a direct or indirect manner. Preferably some derivatives or securities experience including an understanding of Greeks analysis
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to relay information in a concise and understandable manner
  • Professional attitude, strong team player and personable / approachable manner
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively to tight deadlines. Analytical and logical manner; good at problem solving and devising solutions
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality results within tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process reengineering skills. Investigative mindset, ability to see issues at both a high level and in detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with creating documentation
  • Energetic selfstarter who takes ownership. Strong team player, comfortable working with all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical skills in using Excel. Interest and ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
