JOB PURPOSE:

  • Function as the Crew In-Charge of the CFTs.
  • Successfully handle the maneuvering and Operation of the CFTs during emergencies by coordinating with the ops commander.
  • Conduct regular drills in shift, carryout periodical testing and inspection of Fire safety equipment kept in the CFT.
  • Assist the passengers/Occupants to a place of safety during emergencies.
  • Function as FWT incharge, keep vigil over the Aircrafts during landing, take off & taxying for aircraft related incidents/accidents at Fire Watch Tower (FWT).
  • Functions the roles and responsibility at FWT as per DAEP, coordinate with external agencies and maintain the log book.
  • Ensure healthiness of communication systems and keep in touch with AOCC & main FWT during emergency
  • Upkeep of firefighting installations at terminals for smooth handling of airport emergencies.
  • Function as Fire safety incharge at T1 in shift.
  • Coordinate with P&E, IT for timely rectification of defects in the FDP systems at terminals
  • Lead the fire team at terminals during emergency and control the situation with least use of firefighting media and minimum inconvenience to the passengers/occupants.

  • Monitor the movement of aircraft during landing, takeoff, taxing & Any other Fire incidents and realtime reporting of accidents/incidents at Fire Watch Tower
No. of actual v/s incident reported
Ensure proper upkeep of all communication system at Fire Watch Tower, Main/ satellite stations
No. of unserviceability logged
Ensure timely and prompt communication to all concerned as per SOP during airport emergency.
Gap found in logbook recording
Rescue of passengers/occupants during accident/incident.
No. of incidents/ successful rescue
Periodical inspection of Fire protection & detection systems as per SOP
Plan v/s actual No. of non-compliance reported during audits (internal / external).
Conduct of roll call/drills and maintaining of record for all activities carried out during duty hours
No of observations during drill and record


EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:


CISF:
For opening of gates during emergencies on priority, coordination during emergencies.

Delhi Fire Service:
For coordination and assistance during Airport emergencies

Medical services:
For quick response during emergencies and drills.


ATC:
For quick response/timely assistance during emergency and otherwise


INTERNAL INTERACTIONS:


AOCC:
For communicating all Airport related emergencies and daily ARFF status report

Air Side Operations:
Coordination during Airport emergencies for smooth movement of CFTs

Terminal Operations:
Coordination during Emergencies in Terminals.

Landside Management:
Traffic management during emergencies in city side.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:


For direct recruitment:


  • BE Fire/ Fire & Safety from recognized University.
  • Minimum 10+2

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:


  • JFO course /equivalent from any recognized Aviation academy (AAI or GMRAA) or minimum 6 years experienced lead firefighters (CFT Drivers)
15 years of Aviation rescue & firefighting experience from Armed forces.
