Design at Epiroc

Industrial Design Competence Center is a global in-house design center of Epiroc specializing in design strategy, service, and product design (physical and digital).

The center houses competences in vehicle design, product design, interaction design, VR/AR/XR design, visualization, and animation. It caters to all the products and divisions within Epiroc.

This is a team of highly talented and experienced individuals working from Orebro (Sweden) and Bengaluru (India) offices.

Our designers play a key role in bringing creativity and innovation to the forefront of product development, by collaborating with product owners, engineers, developers and stakeholders.

The Role

• Facilitate workshops with product team and stakeholders from different divisions in Epiroc to gather the design requirement.
• Gain deep understanding of the users of our equipment or our digital solutions in the mining and construction ecosystem. Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods to generate insights that can be converted to innovative design solutions.
• Work on a project endtoend, including user research, user flows, need identification, information architecture, wireframes, lowfi and hifi prototypes, delivery of final assets to developers.
• Help in strengthening the design process and quality of deliverables by utilizing the existing Epiroc Design System or improving it as necessary.
• Create visual assets like illustrations, storyboards, icons. The role requires strong visual communication ability.
• Work in close collaboration with the Industrial Design Center in Orebro, Sweden. This role might require travelling to Sweden for 3 months or more in a year.

Your Profile

• Curious to know more about the industry and passionate about solving users' problems through design.
• Understand business goals and add value through design while considering user requirements and technical dependencies.
• You can work on the highlevel vision as well as finer details of implementation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• You have experience in user research, graphic/ visual design, designing for complex user workflows.
• Familiarity with common design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop etc.
• You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design or Industrial Design and 24 years of experience working in a similar role.
• You have a portfolio containing examples of your work.
