    Director Data Analysis andOperations Research
    Objectives and Responsibilities

    Director Data Analysis and OperationsResearch (OR) is responsible for the creation of new data sciencescapabilities for the business by envisioning and executingstrategies that will influence improvement of the businesssperformance by enabling informed decision making.

    The person isexpected to design and maintain data systems databases usingstatistical tools to interpret data prepare reports that cancommunicate trends patterns and predictions based on dataas
    well conduct flight Ops data research and analyticsas required. Focus on designing and constructing new processes fordata modelling and productions. To work with pilot/customer centricalgorithm models and be able to shape them to eachvertical/business. Extract actionable insights from large databaseshelp translate data into visualizations metrics and goals and havea proactive approach. To lead the development of big datacapabilities and utilization as well as the coordination ofcross
    functional analytic initiatives.

    Will also beresponsible for overseeing activities of the data science teamensuring proper execution of duties and alignment with thebusinesss overall vision.

    Leadership/Supervisory Role: The role of the Director DataScience and Analytsis is heading the data science department andleading the data analytics and warehousing vertical overseeing allactivities and ensuring alignment with the businesss vision andobjectives. In this capacity the person will

    organizeand assemble the manpower technology processes and financialresources necessary to address the current and future analyticsneeds of the business.

    understand thatinformation and data are key business asset and operationalize theapplication of data and information in order to deliver optimalperformance.

    provide thought leadership and act as asubject matter expert in the designing and recommending ofappropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing keyissues within the business.

    lead the data analytics inresearch development and implementation of appropriate data systemsthat lead to improved business performance and achievement ofoverall business goals.

    drive departmental culture andpromoting datadriven decisionmaking consumerdriven analyticsmarketing and investment planning across the business.
    participate in various committees meetings as necessary toinfluence data capabilities and competencies within thebusiness.

    initiate data science programs across thedepartment not only with a view of improving departmentalperformance but also with a focus on revenue growth and achievementof the business overall targets and objectives.

    personally work on challenging fundamental data science issueswhere necessary realize and develop solutionsindependently.
    be accountable for the project portfoliowithin the data science and analytics vertical.
    build anindependent inhouse Ops Research capability to deep drill intounderstanding the Business Dynamics building data models and helpact on derived actionables
    communicate the findings tokey stakeholders through reports and presentations with whom thenecessary changes need to be made.

    Collaboration:

    partner with seniorbusiness executives and key stakeholders in creating the datascience roadmap tailored to constantly aid data governance acrossthe business and improve the overall businessperformance.

    partner with other nontechnical departmentswithin the business assisting them in understanding how datascience can benefit them and improve their effectiveness andperformance.

    work closely with the Digital and ITdepartment within the business for the purpose of facilitating easyand effective access to computing and data resources within thebusiness

    Knowledge:

    take initiative and stay up to date with thelatest data science trends techniques and best practicesdetermining how to incorporate the most suitable practices in thedepartment.

    Education:

    Bachelor/Mastersdegree or equivalent in Statistics Machine Learning MathematicsComputer Science Economics or any other related quantitative field.
    An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptablefor the position.

    Experience:

    The candidate for this position will havehad at least 12 years of working experience in a data sciencecapacity preferably working as a Data Scientist/Analyst.

    To have a successful experience leading a data analysis/scienceteam through the implementation of new data science models toolsand techniques that lead to improvement of business performance dueto a continued culture of informed decisionmaking

    Thecandidate to also have extensive experience solving analyticalissues through quantitative approaches and machine learning methodsas well as vast experience using advanced statistical methods datamining techniques and information retrieval.

    A suitable candidatewill show comfort
    analyzing and manipulating largecomplex highdimensional data from numerous sources.
    possess vast experience with programming languages for examplePython.
