Position:
Soldering Technician

Job Overview:

As a Soldering Technician at our manufacturing company, you will be responsible for performing high-quality soldering and assembly of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Your precision and expertise in soldering techniques will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of our products.

Responsibilities:

Soldering and Assembly:
Perform soldering and assembly of electronic components onto PCBs following industry standards and work instructions. Use hand soldering irons and/or automated soldering machines as required.

Quality Control:

Inspect and verify the quality of solder joints, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards for reliability and functionality.

Identify and rectify any soldering defects or discrepancies during the assembly process.

Component Identification:
Identify and verify electronic components and their values before soldering. Cross-reference component values with the bill of materials (BOM) and circuit schematics to ensure accurate assembly.

ESD Handling:

Practice proper Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures and maintain an ESD-safe work environment to prevent damage to sensitive electronic components.

Workstation Maintenance:
Maintain soldering equipment and tools in good working condition. Clean and calibrate soldering irons regularly to ensure consistent soldering results.

Compliance and Safety:
Follow safety guidelines and company policies while handling hazardous materials and working with soldering equipment. Adhere to all manufacturing and quality control procedures.

Documentation:

Record and maintain accurate assembly and inspection records, including any issues encountered and their resolution, to facilitate quality control and process improvement efforts.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with the production team, quality control team, and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve any soldering-related issues that may arise during production.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in training programs and stay up-to-date with the latest soldering techniques and industry best practices to improve soldering skills and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

ITI
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

Proven experience as a Soldering Technician, ideally in electronics or PCB assembly.

Strong soldering skills with the ability to handle surface mount and through-hole components.

Familiarity with soldering standards (IPC-A-610) and best practices.

Understanding of electronic components and their handling requirements.

Attention to detail and ability to work with small components and fine pitch soldering.

Knowledge of ESD safety protocols and handling procedures.

Basic understanding of circuit schematics and component identification from BOMs.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production targets.

Team player with effective communication skills.
