Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy storage systems and enhancements to existing systems and software using native AWS technologies.
  • Evaluating storage performance issues and storage requests
  • Design/build/deploy storage solutions/resources
  • Proactively monitoring the storage service environments
  • Provide engineering support for storage infrastructure
  • Establish and recommend policies on system use and services


Provide 3rd line operational support as SME for data storage and data protection technologies from NetApp and other AWS storage technologies.


Work independently on sophisticated incidents, requests, standard and non-standard change according to agreed procedures & Service Level Agreements, based around the ITIL framework.

Automate mundane tasks


Build clear and concise documentation, share information and train team members and other colleagues to improve first time fix rate.

Working knowledge of AWS services like - EC2, S3, EBS, Cloud Pipeline, CloudWatch, etc


Supervise the data storage infrastructure & take a proactive approach to identifying potential problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks & inefficiencies, and work towards addressing these issues, through automation and process optimization.


Work closely with a globally distributed team of Storage Engineers and the Storage Manager to deliver a high quality service and ensure strategic objectives and goals are achieved.

Implementing and maintaining cloud management solutions including initial and ongoing configuration of related automation, notifications, and reporting capabilities.

Develop and present proof-of-concept for key decision makers

Remain abreast of and analyze new and emerging technologies and tools for applicability to field.

Drives significant and unique issues resolution where analysis require full landscape overview using FMEA/SIPOC methodologies


Skills:
AWS Cloud Operations, including FSxNetApp services and NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP

Well versed with all NetApp protocols

Experience with NAS Storage File protocols - NFS and unstructured data systems

Understanding of data storage standard processes

Experience with NetApp data ONTAP administration, on-prem and cloud

Automation and DevOps fundamentals with CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Linux shell scripting

Well versed in CI/CD pipeline

Ability to automate and create interfaces with ServiceNow, SPLUNK and other tools

Strong understanding of Infrastructure services Networking and solving (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN)

Customer-facing experience; you need to be confident and credible in front of a customer and express sophisticated ideas clearly

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability/willingness to learn new technologies

Good organizational and time-management skills, together with the ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines
