A scaffold estimator is responsible for accurately calculating the cost and materials required for scaffolding projects.

They work closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure that scaffolding solutions are estimated and delivered efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities

Evaluate project requirements:

Review project drawings and specifications to understand the scope of work, identify potential challenges, and determine the most suitable scaffold system for the project.


Cost estimation:

Analyze project details, such as height, area, and complexity, to estimate the quantity and type of scaffolding materials required.

Calculate the cost of materials(hire), labour, transportation, Sundry items, and any additional expenses related to scaffolding.

Preparation of proposals:
Develop detailed and accurate proposals based on cost estimations. Present proposals to clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project requirements, timelines, and budget.

Collaboration with project teams:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to understand project timelines, specifications, and constraints. Provide necessary support and guidance throughout the scaffolding process.

Compliance with safety regulations:
Ensure that all scaffold designs and estimates comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Stay abreast of industry safety standards and make recommendations accordingly.

Documentation and record-keeping: Generate and maintain accurate records of estimate calculations, material lists, and any relevant project documentation. Update and organize these records to facilitate future reference and ease of information retrieval.

Cost analysis:
Evaluate project costs against estimates to identify areas for improvement and cost savings. Provide regular reports and updates on actual costs compared to estimated costs.

Continuous learning:

Stay updated with industry trends, new scaffolding techniques, and advancements in equipment to enhance estimating capabilities and provide innovative solutions to clients.


Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree with Proficiency in MS office.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools
  • Knowledge of scaffolding systems and materials
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of construction safety regulations
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
