The key responsibilities of the role include:
Buyer / Senior Buyer


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for managing end to end Procurement process, includes managing o all inquiries from vendors/partners, working closely with Category Mangers in driving Sourcing strategies, drive and maintains vendor catalog related to orders; updates internal tracking mechanisms and all metrics; resolves and escalates issues as needed. Takes minimum direction from Category Managers.
  • Responsible in provide effective and efficient support of the procurement processes
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to Procurement
  • Secures and analyzes quotations, drive strategic negotiations with suppliers, completes contract negotiations, recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
  • Works closely with Supports Category, makes recommendations to strategic sourcing initiatives, influencing resource dedication and savings commitments
  • Identifies, recommends and implements guidelines, policies and controls to manage spend effectively
  • Monitors supplier performance executes appropriate remedies for non-compliance. Negotiates modifications and new service levels as business conditions change
  • Drive special projects in support of broader Procurement goals. Sets and maintains project schedules, monitors project(s) and adjusts schedules or tasks as needed
  • Communicates directly with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, relative to various policy, financial, risk and strategic matters
  • Resolves complex transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes
  • Works on large and complex projects and develops project leadership skills
  • Follows effectively Procurement Buyer procedures and processes to improve the efficiency of the group and actively guide and support team
  • Interacts on a regular basis with upper management, external customers as well as internal partners to integrate solutions that meet the company's goals both financially and operationally
  • Acts as key contact for various partners, including internal auditors, and other business units

Job Related Skills

  • Indepth knowledge of Supply chain management, contracting and procurement knowledge is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. MS Office skills, ERP systems
  • Coupa, Peoplesoft) is required.
  • Ability to create RFPs, related qualitative and pricing analysis, contractual documentation, service levels and performance scorecards is required.
  • Strong sourcing, project management, facilitation, negotiation and change management skills are required.
  • Strong analytical, presentation business articulation skills (verbal and written) are required with an ability to lead cross functional teams. Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Exposure to Implementation of effective Procurement Techniques
  • Proven skills in analysis, problem solving and coordination. Possesses strong Data Analysis & reporting skills.
  • Exposure to Customs and local purchase tax structures
  • Process compliance related skills and audit awareness
  • Deep understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), eAuction and other Procurement tools

Experience:
Minimum of 5 to 7 years for Buyer & 8-10 years experience for Senior Buyer


Qualification:

A College or University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Finance and/or some relevant work experience in Sourcing or Procurement is required.

CPM certified or working towards completion is preferred MBA would be an added advantage.


Technical Skills

  • MS Tools: Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio & SharePoint
  • Exposure to ERP Systems, Coupa, Oracle PeopleSoft or SAP
  • Etools: Contract management tools, eAuction
