Position Overview

  • As Corporate Counsel at Autodesk, you will partner with Customer Success Teams based in Bangalore and provide proactive, practical legal guidance on a broad range of commercial, IP, data and customer related issues
  • In this role, you will think creatively and strategically, handle complex issues and manage projects at scale. You will also pitch in where needed to assist the business. You will work separately and collaboratively in a fastpaced, agile team environment

Responsibilities:


  • Provide professional legal advice, legal leadership, strategy and risk management guidance to Autodesk Consulting Delivery, Customer Success Management, Client Services and Customer Technical Success teams in India and neighboring regions
  • Partner with functional and business leaders in the region, and the Customer Success Legal team globally, to help the India business develop scalable solutions for the delivery of professional consulting services, reactive and proactive support and packaged IP
  • Proactively ensure alignment with compliance policies and procedures across a range of local business initiatives and third party contractual arrangements
  • Implement training programs for nonlegal functions on contractual, intellectual property, data privacy and regulatory issues, where necessary
  • Advise on a range of legal and regulatory issues related to inbound and outbound customer communications, including issues connected with telephony, data, AI/ML and chat usage
  • Review, negotiate and approve material contracts with third party technology providers, consultants and alliance partners
  • Coordinate with AP/J Legal team, APac Risk Counsel and global legal functions such as Data Privacy, IP, Employment, Litigation, Revenue Operations and Product Counsels to build alignment on key projects, contentious issues and regulatory matters
  • Manage local disputes, internal and external
  • Establish a strong business partnership based on trust
Minimum qualifications

  • Law Degree from recognized university in India or Asia Pacific country
  • Admitted as qualified lawyer in India
  • 8 to 10 years of commercial advisory experience in medium or large private practice (law firm) or MNC (inhouse), preferably both
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a diverse multicultural team
  • Initiative and creativity in seeking solutions to problems
  • Ability to think strategically, take strategic risks and make tough decisions
  • Strong drive and commitment to deliver results
  • Experience drafting and negotiating agreements
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong track record of high ethical standards and professional integrity
Preferred qualifications

  • Prior legal experience in technology, professional services or related areas
  • Knowledge of the product, services and platform ecosystem in India, preferably globally
