    Description

    Job Description SummaryThe Data Modeler role will work in a collaborative team environment that delivers commercial digital solutions for the Institutional Group across multiple divisions.

    This position will work closely with various development teams in the Data domain to provide integrated field, corporate account, and customer solutions.

    Leads the business analyst effort to capture, clarify, and manage business system requirements for the Data Analytics platform.

    This role identifies, documents, and validates business system requirements with detailed acceptance criteria used by the technical team to provide functionality necessary to meet business objectives.

    They also work with the QA function to help drive testing and quality control.

    Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, or related field8 to 10 + years' experience working in an IT environment.6+ years of experience in a business environment performing analysis, requirements gathering, and problem-solving6+ years' experience working with various Data & Analytics Dev teams – Data Engineering, Integration, Data Science, Data Warehousing and Business IntelligenceMain ResponsibilitiesUnderstand business needs to create conceptual, physical, & logical Dimensional Models by adhering to the best practices.

    Proven experience in creating or developing optimized Dimensional Model for Data warehousing/Business Intelligence and schema.
    Provide data/business analysis support to the Analytics team.
    Should have good knowledge to understand the data to convert the OLTP Data model to OLAP Dimensional model.

    Strong experience in data research and querying large/complex datasets like Data Profiling to understand the characteristics of the Data like length, cardinality, nullable, and others.

    Updating and optimizing local and metadata models with optimization of data query performance via best practices.
    Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
    Strong understanding on Normalized and De-normalized concepts.

    Proven experience in handling different types of dimension types based on the behavior of the data at the source level.

    Strong experience to create the optimized Dimensional Model with data available at required levels & grain.
    Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
    Experience in Data Mapping Specification, Data Matrix, and Data Flow Diagrams.
    Good to have Power BI or any BI Tools along.
    Agile learner to become a trusted subject matter expert and explorer in business domains.
    Work closely with data architects and implement data modelling solutions to streamline and support enterprise information management.
    Preferred QualificationsEstablish close relationships with product owners to discover and translate requirements including functional and non-functional.
    Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environmentExperience working with global cross-functional teams with digital programsA basic understanding of cloud architecture and/or cloud related solutions like Azure and SnowflakeWork proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risk
