    Quality Systems Engineer


    About:


    We're a recently established global battery enterprise and a subsidiary of the Tata Group which owns Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Tata Motors.

    We'll be pioneering the design, development, and manufacturing of batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) at our state-of-the-art gigafactory in the UK.

    Our gigafactory is expected to have a capacity of 40 GWh per year.

    Quality Systems Engineer

    Job Purpose


    This is an opportunity to support the development of a complete Integrated Management System from the bottom up (including: IATF 16949, ISO 14001 / ISO 9001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 50001), working with all functions to develop lean procedures that meet certification requirements whilst adding value to the business.


    Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Support the effective implementation of the global Integrated Management System throughout the company
    • Support the deployment of global procedures across the UK and India teams helping to ensure standardisation across both business locations
    • Establish yourself as the key QMS representative in the Indian business location and act as the key support contact for all functions supporting the development of process maps, policies, procedures and working documentation
    • Support Quality and EHS compliance activity
    • Operate the company Document Control and Businesswide Problem Solving process and system a. Supporting system users to create, maintain and improve process documentation
    b. Ensure standardisation of documentation across both business locations

    c. Track and drive progression of robust problem solving investigations

    d. Manufacturing close out status of issues and updates, report and escalate appropriately

    • Support development and implementation of Quality software solutions
    • Train others in all aspects of the Quality management system and application of procedures
    • Conduct internal ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 systems audits, internal QEHS audits, LPAs and support in QEHS technical and external certification audits where appropriate
    • Support in integrating external Tata Business Excellence Model requirements (Business Excellence Model)
    • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on the management system
    • Provide regular reports to the Company Quality team and the wider business on KPIs and the status of objectives
    • Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities and promote a zero harm, zero defect culture.

    Qualifications:

    • Quality Management System implementation and development experience within a manufacturing environment
    • ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Lead or Internal Auditor Certified
    - with ISO 14001, 45001 and 50001 would be beneficial

    • Ability to travel where necessary nationally and internationally
    • Ability to prioritise, plan and manage day to day tasks alongside longerterm projects

    Experiences:

    • Relevant previous experience in the operation of Quality Management Systems
    • A detailed understanding of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 and general manufacturing related Quality compliance
    • Working knowledge and experience of key Quality systems and processes – including Problem Solving, Document Control, Change Management
    • Experience of collaborative cross functional team working
    • Experience of training and promoting Quality activities to all levels of business.
