Job DescriptionOpportunity for ESG analysts to work with a leading global research and analytics company with a strong ESG research and product development practice.

The project will involve exposure to working closely with the client team, a global investment bank and build proprietary ESG tearsheets for a set of portfolio companies.

The ask would also be able to engage well with the client and manage a small team with exposure to other org-level ESG initiatives.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about sustainable finance and are good with financial writing.

The role will help them in understanding different ESG trends and help in developing domain expertise in material ESG issues specific to different industry along with exposure to working with CRISIL management for product development.


Functional responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive desk research into sustainability practices of companies across sectors and geographies
  • Understanding ESG policies and implementation of companies using their annual reports, CSR/sustainability reports, proxy statements and other company filings
  • Write commentary in ESG tearsheets assessing the ESG risks and opportunities of each company. Prior financial writing experience preferred
  • Quality review of projects executed by peers/juniors
  • Maintain high quality standards with regular ESG data quality checks
  • Keeping a track of sustainability trends, regulations and industryspecific challenges
  • Support CRISIL management in building ESG products and support in existing services
  • Engage with client on a regular basis. Prior client engagement experience preferred
  • Deliver on individual and team targets with quality and efficiency
  • Support Project lead on operational reporting
  • MIS, QC logs, etc.
Skills Required

  • Ability to understand the context for each task assigned
  • Strong decision making ability to help differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information and articulate analytical points
  • Ability to manage a small team and handle multiple adhoc research projects
  • Work as an independent contributor as well as projectlead capacity, as the case may be
  • Familiarity with company filings such as annual reports, CSR/ sustainability reports, proxy statements, etc. Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good command of the English language both spoken and written
  • Strong MS word and excel skills
  • Ability to work towards strict deadlines, manage and prioritize tasksQualificationPost graduate, preferably in finance, environmental sciences, and economics with prior experience as an ESG analyst
