Overview:
As a Senior Storage Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization's storage infrastructure.

This role requires a deep understanding of storage technologies, data management, and a proactive approach to ensure the availability, performance, and security of storage systems.

The Senior Storage Administrator will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead storage-related projects, and contribute to the development of storage strategies aligned with business objectives.


Responsibilities:


Storage Infrastructure Management:


  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of storage solutions, including SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage) environments.
  • Monitor and manage storage capacity, ensuring scalability to meet current and future business requirements.

Performance Optimization:


  • Conduct performance analysis and tuning of storage systems to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Implement and maintain performance monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.

Data Protection and Security:


  • Develop and enforce data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical information.
  • Implement security measures to protect stored data, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Collaboration and Leadership:


  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and IT security professionals, to ensure seamless integration of storage systems with overall IT infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior members of the storage administration team.

Troubleshooting and Support:


  • Respond to storagerelated incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide tier 3 support for storagerelated issues, collaborating with vendors when necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation for storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Generate regular reports on storage performance, capacity utilization, and other relevant metrics.

Emerging Technologies:


  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging storage technologies, making recommendations for their adoption to improve the organization's storage infrastructure.

You will be successful in this role if you have:


Key Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of domain experience.
  • Proven experience (X years) as a Storage Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Deep knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, RAID configurations, and disk management.
  • Proficiency with storage management tools and performance monitoring solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and leadership.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EMC Storage Administrator, NetApp Certified Data Administrator) are a plus.
