What's the role?
This role is Associate Researcher also the DCS operator who have responsibilities for pilot plants/Bench scale units' operators.

He/She plays a responsible operations role in all facets of IH2 R&D experimental programs and related planning, execution & safe delivery of R&D experimental programme while ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety policies.

Works with Team Lead, Manager, Site Operations and Engineer(s) to plan and schedule all plant operations.

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • Plan, supervise and execute activities in shift operation for performing experiments in pilot-scale process units & supporting the operational lead.
  • Execute experimental programs in cooperation with activity lead/ Operational Lead
  • Extract data from process plant units and assist in development of data analysis protocol for providing quality data from the unit
  • Able to perform maintenance operations on the benchscale plant in compliance with the STCB HSSE regulations, also including documentation requirements.
  • Performing start up, steady state and shut down activities as per agreed schedule and documenting the activities.
  • Diagnose equipment performance and relay the information to activity lead Check equipment for possible problems during shift rounds.
  • Recommend and maintain preventative maintenance or repairs schedule for benchscale plant.
  • Maintain solid feed, catalyst and hydrocarbon liquid onsite inventory at an agreed level to ensure continuous operations.
  • Monitors computerized plant control system and report results to the activity lead.
  • Supervise feedstock characterization and execute the feed preparation workflow Prepare and review, standard operating procedures, JHAs, TRAs, MOCs, etc.
  • Request permits within the permit to work system and perform/supervise the execution activities adhering to the permit to work system.
  • Review and implement operation, shift handover and safety protocol/procedures with concerned teams to ensure continuous and safe operation of process equipment.
  • Lead activities related to maintenance of units, like commissioning, modifications (MOC), and troubleshooting Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and demonstrate improvement via implementation of the same.
  • Contribute to effective functioning of the team through appropriate individual contribution, team working and communication behavior.
  • Display creativity in finding nonstandard solutions and show keenness to innovate.

What we need from you?

  • Bachelors /master's degree in chemical engineering with 35 years relevant experience in operating pilot plants will be essential and preferred.
  • Ability to work in Shift operation on all weekdays.
  • Ability to wear a half and fullface mask as well as selfcontained breathing apparatus.
  • Skilled in HSE pertaining and familiar with PTW, MOC systems.
