    Who we are seeking

    The Controls Design & Development department in First Line Risk and Controls is expanding its team to strengthen the cybersecurity and technology risk and control framework, develop and execute risk and control assessments, and collaborate with Control Testing & Assurance to evaluate and improve controls and mitigate risk. The Vice President will lead a small team of Controls Analysts in these endeavors and will also act as the Country Lead for the Controls Design & Development division. Reporting to the Head of Controls Design & Development, the Vice President will play a key role in driving these initiatives forward.

    Your main responsibilities

    As the Controls Design & Development Vice President:

    • Enhance and streamline methodology for monitoring and assessing threat risks in alignment with industry standards.
    • Partner with FLRC Risk Governance to design and implement a robust risk and control framework.
    • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of risk and control assessment activities following the StateStreet framework and methodology.
    • Identify and address potential control gaps, revamp and strengthen controls, and establish tests for operational effectiveness alongside control owners.
    • Contribute to regular reporting on the progress and outcomes of control assessment activities.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and responsibility for implementing and executing controls throughout Global Technology Services.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with subject matter experts and other stakeholders to promote risk management excellence.
    • Collaborate with various FLRC departments, business partners, and external parties to address issues and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Maintain comprehensive records and evidence of completed risk and control assessments.
    • Supervise a team of Controls Analysts, overseeing their training, mentorship, and professional growth.
    • Act as the Country Lead for Controls Design & Development to ensure alignment with department goals and provide timely support to team members across reporting lines.

    Key qualifications

    The following skills are essential for success in this role:

    • Effective communication and interaction with diverse management levels across different regions.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate concepts and grasp workflows.
    • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
    • Prior familiarity with the State Street control assessment framework is advantageous.
    • Hands-on experience with GTS tools like Archer is a plus.
    • Proficiency in creating process flows, identifying controls, and producing management information in presentations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work proficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables and deadlines.
    • Detail-oriented approach to tasks and projects.
    • Experience in the Financial industry is preferred, though not mandatory.

    Education & Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, Risk Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is beneficial.
    • Overall industry experience of 16 - 18+ years.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Information Security or related IT areas focusing on risk management, controls assurance, compliance programs, cybersecurity, information security regulations, industry standards, and internal policies frameworks.
    • At least 8 years of prior experience in a risk management or audit team with knowledge of Archer control inventory or similar systems.
    • Interest in pursuing professional certifications like CISA or CRISC.
