    Description

    Roles and Responsibilities.

    • Record and reconcile all transactions/accounts according to accounting principles.
    • Manage payroll functions for all staff at MIT-VPU.
    • Ensure compliance by managing tax and audits. Assist with taxation including filing returns.
    • Identify and report financial & budgetary discrepancies and should be able to reconcile discrepancies in financial entries.
    • Assist in procurement process and possibly also with inventory management. Preparing and entering invoices, bills, checks etc. Oversee accounts payable/receivable.
    • Generate various financial reports for senior MIT-VPU management and consult on financial strategy, help with financial plans, forecasts and budgets.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum education requirement is BCom, MCom or equivalent degree.
    • Qualified CA /ICWA /MBA or Inter Pass and appearing for Final is an advantage.
    • 2+ years of industry experience with payrolls, Taxation and book-keeping. Some experience of engagement in academic institute is a plus.
    • Proficiency in accounting software like Tally is a must and should have knowledge of handling computers and data entry.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word is required.
    • Knowledge of generating financial reports, Income Tax, TDS, GST, Companies Act and other Statutory compliance.
    • Some knowledge of drafting and generating letters with proper format in word, PDF.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written are required.
