    Description

    ACS-I India is looking for an 8+ years experienced Data Engineer with data modeling experience who will support a rapidly growing Business Data & Analytic Platform focused on providing data product solutions that empower our core business users to turn data into actionable insights. The data engineer will work as a dedicated team member focused on providing customer service excellence, collaboration, and data platform stability for data pipeline workflows.

ACS-I India represent products and services provided by ACS divisions, including CAS to the world's most important scientific companies, government organizations, global patent offices and academic institutions to promote research and discovery.

    About CAS:

    CAS is a division of the American Chemical Society and is a source of chemical information. CAS provides products and services, solutions for researchers and professional searchers, and support and training. CAS has provided the most comprehensive repository of research in chemistry and related sciences for over 100 years. CAS finds, collects and organizes all publicly disclosed substance information and creates the world's most valuable chemistry databases. Scientists and patent professionals across the world rely on this database.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to understand requirements. Build and improve data strategies and data flows. Build data models – Logical, Physical, Conceptual.
    • Define and govern data modeling and design standards and related developments for Enterprise Data models.
    • Data profiling
    • Designs and develops complex and large-scale data structures and pipelines for ingestion and transformation of data for analytical or operational uses across a wide variety of business needs and enterprise data domains.
    • Writes complex ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops pipelines for batch and near real-time analytic processing.
    • Develop automated data quality check to make sure right data enters the data platform and verifying the results of the calculations.
    • Automate, orchestrates and monitors data pipelines from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.
    • Collaborate with others as part of a cross-functional team that includes Product Owners,
    • Delivery Leads, Data Stewards, Data Architects, Data Scientists, Data Modelers, Cloud Platform Engineers and Data Analysts.
    • Being an active and collaborating member of an Agile/Scrum team and following all Agile/Scrum best practices
    • Develop detailed technical requirements, design documentation, test scripts, run books and other associated artifacts.
    • Responsible to ensure day-to-day operations of product that depend on data, ensuring data is properly processed and securely transferred to its appropriate location.

    Mandatory skills

    • Data Integration tool – Talend Data Fabric
    • Data Lakehouse – Snowflake Data Cloud
    • SQL
    • Data Modeling – ER/Studio

    Good to have:

    • Boomi (Optional), SAP BW APD (Optional)
    • Data Warehouse – SAP BW
    • AWS cloud services – S3, Athena, Glue (Optional)
    • Kafka Streaming / Kafka Connect
    • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, JFrog
    • Data Catalog – Collibra
    • Exposure on SAP ECC, Salesforce, and Eloqua Platforms
    • Programing Language – Snowflake SQL, Standard SQL, ABAP
    • Tableau Visualization

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar discipline with 5+ years' experience in data integration, data warehouses/lakes, data profiling, data governance understanding.

    Proficient with:

    • Programming tools – SQL (preferred)
    • Database/Data Warehouse/Data Lake technologies – SAP BW, PostgreSQL, Snowflake
    • Data visualization-Tableau (Optional)
    • Experience on Data Modeling
    • Expertise to build Test plans and cases following standard process and procedures.
    • Comfortable learning about and deploying new technologies and tools.
    • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
    • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to present results to nontechnical audiences.
