Keyboard Teacher (Specializing in Trinity College, London's Grade Exams)


Position Overview:


Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans tailored to students preparing for Trinity College, London's grade exams on keyboard instruments.

Individualized Instruction: Provide personalized instruction to students of all age groups, catering to their unique learning styles and musical abilities on keyboards.

Technical Training: Offer expert guidance on technical skills specific to keyboard instruments, including technique, scales, chords, and repertoire, ensuring students are well-prepared for the exam requirements.

Repertoire Selection: Assist students in selecting appropriate repertoire for their exams, taking into account their interests, strengths, and areas for improvement on keyboards.

Performance Preparation: Prepare students for exam performances on keyboards, including mock exams and recitals, to build confidence and proficiency in a performance setting.

Feedback and Assessment: Provide constructive feedback and regular progress assessments to monitor students' development and address areas needing improvement in their keyboard playing.

Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress, goals, and any concerns or challenges related to keyboard learning.

Continued Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest developments and trends in music education, attending workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities as needed to enhance keyboard teaching skills.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Performance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience in teaching keyboard instruments, with a focus on preparing students for Trinity College, London's grade exams.
  • Proficiency in keyboard instruments commonly examined by Trinity College, London (e.g., piano, electronic keyboard).
  • Strong knowledge of keyboard technique, music theory, repertoire, and performance skills across various musical genres.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages in keyboard learning.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively manage lesson planning, scheduling, and student progress tracking in keyboard instruction.
  • Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and musical excellence on keyboards.
  • Certification or accreditation in music education and/or Trinity College, London's examination system is highly desirable.

Pay is per class basis processed monthly
