    Description

    Primary Functions:

    • Responsible for developing and maintaining statistical and ML models and tools
    • Collaborating with COE team and business owners to identify key customer pain-points, uncover insights, and develop techniques to address these issues.
    • Delivering actionable insights to stakeholders informed by robust statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
    • Performing ad-hoc analysis and reporting results to leadership team.
    • Standing up analytics for Delta's new personalization experiences and delivering cadenced reporting for current experiences.
    • Building, calibrating, and enhancing existing models, and monitoring model performance.
    • Leveraging emerging technologies and identifying efficient and meaningful ways to deliver insights to the business.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):

    • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, mathematics, or related field with 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.
    • Master's degree and 4+ years of proven experience in data science or machine learning.
    • Ability to translate business problems into prediction or optimization problems.
    • Strong understanding of regression methods, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
    • Working knowledge of forecasting and causal inference methods.
    • Strong foundations in optimal data querying/modeling with SQL.
    • Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, R, or SAS) and deep knowledge of analytical packages and libraries.
    • Nice to have experience in linear programming and non-linear optimization methods.
    • Must possess strong business acumen, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Candidate should be recognized for integrity, intelligence, and professional maturity.
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment in a creative and innovative manner.
    • Consistently prioritizing safety and security for self and others.

    WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):

    • Experience in instrumenting ML solutions in AWS (e.g., Sagemaker).
    • Experience in building uplift modeling.
    • Prior experience with Delta or other airline or Hospitality data is a plus.
    • Experience collaborating with a global team.
    • Curiosity about finding solutions to customer pain-points throughout the travel experience.
