Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities.

Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business.

HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview:
As a DBA at Aclara, assignments, decisionmaking, and complexity are not limited to just carrying out established work processes and operations.
You will be learning new and exciting cloud processes as we embrace our journey to the cloud. In addition, you will learn additional database platforms which will expand your skills in both database administration, performance tuning, and Cloud Computing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in daily administration activities including setup, configuration, and monitoring of databases to ensure backups, availability and performance are all maintained to the highest standards.
Tuning, trouble shooting and oncall production support for database environments deployed in multi cloud environments both on the Azure and AWS platforms.
Monitor and work the JIRA ticket queue for request to make schema changes, security changes, execute scripts against the databases and refresh nonproduction databases.
Assist the support staff to troubleshoot SQL and any other database errors.
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution endtoend.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and crosstraining to other peers and team members
