DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF STAFF NURSE
The Staff Nurse is the first level professional Nurse in the hospital set up. Therefore by appearance and by word she will be professional at all time.


She will be skilled nurse, giving expert bed side care to patient and executing special technical duties in the special areas like operation theatres, intensive care unit, highly dependent unit etc.

She also act as 'de facto' sister as and when situation arises in the ward or department.

  • Admission and discharge of patients.
  • Bathing patients including daily care of mouth, nails and pressure points.
  • Four hourly, or more frequent, attentions to pressures points.
  • Giving and removing of bed pans and urine pots.
  • Bed making.
  • Feeding of patients if necessary.
  • Assistance in administration of intravenous injunctions, if required.
  • Administering, preparing for injunction and clearing up of disposals.
  • Recording of medicines and injunction given to the patient.
  • Monitor vital sings like BP, Temperature, Pulse etc., and record it.
  • Provide frequent patient evaluations including monitoring vital signs and perform essential procedures.
  • Refer any changes in patient's status or untoward reaction to the treating doctor.
  • Rounds with doctor.
  • Technical procedures e.g., enema, catheterization, dressing; irrigations oxygen therapy, preparing for and clearing up after procedures.
  • Preparation for and assistance in clinical tests and medical procedures.
  • Pre
- and Post - operative care.

  • Monitor, analyse and record urine and stool output.
  • Analyse test results from various department and record it properly.
  • Collection labelling and dispatching of specimens to the laboratory for investigations.
  • Assist doctors during treatment.
  • Pre
pare the patient for various investigation like Ultra Sound, Echo, CT scan, MRI, Endoscopy, etc.

  • Escorting patient and, and from department.
  • Give psychological support to the patient and family members.
  • Giving and receiving reports.
  • Educate patient and family about the disease and prognosis of the patient.
  • Attend in a timely manner all mandatory education sessions conducted by the hospital.
  • Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.
  • Utilize effective time management skills.
  • Maintain professional appearance and dress code.
  • Comply with guidelines for absence or tardiness.
  • All employees are expected to remain flexible to meet the needs of the hospital, which may include floating to other departments to assist as the patient needs fluctuate.
  • Wear identification badge when working.

Job Types:

Salary:
₹12, ₹25,000.00 per month
