The IT Business Partner is operationally responsible for the coordination between Linxon's users and the teams that provide hardware and software support.

The IT Business will manage various daily issues in a dynamic, fast paced environment which champions customer satisfaction as a priority.


What will you do?


The IT Business Partner takes the lead in building strong working relationships between the group-level IT organization and Linxon, and for ensuring IT services meet the needs of the business.

Central to the role's duties is the requirement to guarantee the smooth running and reliability the business's IT environment (Keep the Lights On).


The role has for primary objectives to:

Keep current operations and IT support running, Build relationships with SNC IT and internal customers Fix ongoing issues, notably around hardware management, Engineering Licenses, inventory management, onboarding process and migration related issues.


Experience, Education Required:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience Information Technology role, including management.
  • Computer Science degree or relevant discipline
  • Prior experience of working in a matrix organization and managing varied stakeholders (preferably in an engineering services organization or the wider power transmission sector)
  • Proven ability to lead IT Service Management (ideally with ITIL certification)
  • Track record of success in managing projects within IT (ideally with Prince2 / PMI qualification)
  • Current knowledge of: IT architecture
- (ideally with TOGAF qualification), IT Infrastructure-, Cloud and On-Premise Applications-, IT Supplier-, and Portfolio Management


Key Areas of Responsibility:


IT Leadership

  • Work with the Linxon business and its parent group to enable the business's strategy
  • Represent Linxon's interests in grouplevel (majority shareholder) IT forums and in negotiations with IT suppliers
  • Lead a small team of IT operations support analysts and 3rd party onsite technicians
  • Collaborate with the business to calculate and manage annual budgets for IT, ensuring the optimization (reduction) of the IT cost profile

IT Operations and Service Management

  • Lead Linxon in IT Service Management as well as Portfolio and Asset Management, collaborating with Group IT, contracted service providers and 3rd party IT suppliers wherever necessary
  • Be the point of escalation and final approver for all IT issues and requests within Linxon
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with Linxon's thirdparty IT suppliers
  • Support the business in answering statutory and customerled IT audits and questionnaires

IT Project and Programme Management

  • Lead IT Project and Change Management for Linxon across the business
  • Understand the financial and technical tradeoffs of all IT proposed IT solutions
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximise the positive impact on the business
  • Manage the relationship between IT and Real Estate and lead IT involvement in office openings, modifications and closures
  • Champion ERP transformation activities at Linxon and contribute to the technical design and implementation of the final solution (in collaboration with Group IT)
