Job Description Summary:

The Staff Data Platform Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing security measures to protect the company's cloud data platforms against cyber threats and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

You will also work with cross functional teams in GEHC to make the data usable for functional users, Data Scientists and Applications to enable delivery of business values to customers.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive security architecture for the SOX data platform, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data.
  • Design and implement security controls, policies, and procedures to protect the company's data platform from cyber threats and ensure compliance with SOX, and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the data platform design and implementation.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to prevent or respond to security incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with securityrelated regulatory requirements, such as SOX, and GDPR.
  • Conduct security audits and assessments of thirdparty vendors.
  • Participates in the data domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
  • Assists in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
  • Gathers and analyzes data and develops architectural requirements at project level.
  • Participates in the Data Governance Council.
  • Researches and evaluates emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
  • Coaches and mentors team members.
  • Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization
  • Participates in the data domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
  • Gathers and analyzes data and develops architectural requirements at Product level.
  • Supports the development data and data delivery platforms that are serviceoriented with reusable components that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
  • Researches and evaluates emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support activities.
  • Coaches and mentors team members.
  • Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) with minimum 8+ years of experience
  • 10+ years' experience explicitly in Data Analytics Design, Architecture and the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in design and build of Data & Analytical solutions using AWS native services with strong Cloud Architecture. Also strong expertise in Big Data and Data Platforms (Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Redshift, RDS etc.) and AI & Machine Learning are a big plus.
  • Experience in planning, migrating, provisioning, configuring, patching, managing, and securing/hardening cloud systems.
  • Proficiency in OpenSource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as EMR, Hive ,SPARK and KAFKA as well as configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef or Salt) and Cloud orchestration tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terrafom)
  • Working experience in implementation of networking, storage and computing protocols and technologies
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and related products and architectures with implementation, tuning, support and troubleshooting experience in both daytoday and project activities
  • Experience in Data warehousing, Data & Dimensional modeling and concepts.
  • Experience in one or more data visualization tool like Tableau, Spotfire etc.
  • Good understanding of enterprise source systems
  • ERP, CRMetc.
  • Experience in Python or Core Java, Java Web Services development with REST APIs
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user needs and requirements into design alternatives
  • Effective team player with strong communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively / clearly at different levels in the organization
  • Proven ability to create and maintain online and printed documentation
  • Demonstrated track record for the successful execution and accountability of assigned tasks
