Position Overview:
Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development: Develop comprehensive lesson plans and curriculum materials for teaching political science concepts to students in grades 6-10.

Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that facilitate student understanding of political systems, governance, citizenship, and related topics.

Critical Thinking Development: Encourage students to think critically about political issues, analyze current events, and form their own informed opinions.

Discussion Facilitation: Lead class discussions on political theories, historical events, and contemporary issues, fostering an environment conducive to open dialogue and respectful debate.

Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student comprehension and progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual growth.

Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in extracurricular activities related to political science, such as Model United Nations, debate clubs, or student government, to enhance students' understanding and engagement.

Parent Communication: Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, academic performance, and any concerns related to the political science curriculum.

Professional Development: Stay updated on current events, educational trends, and advancements in political science research through ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Social Studies, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience teaching political science or social studies to students in grades 610, with a demonstrated ability to engage and inspire learners.
- Deep knowledge of political theories, governmental structures, global issues, and historical events, with the ability to make complex concepts accessible to students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Commitment to promoting critical thinking, civic engagement, and respect for diverse perspectives in the classroom.
- Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for lifelong learning and professional growth.
