- As part of a multi-functional development team, major responsibility will include working as a Design Engineer for various REFRIGERATION projects, facilitating associated technical evaluation and implementation for New Product Development and SUSTENANCE Engineering projects.
- Can independently work on converting customer wants into technical specifications
- Collaborate with global validation teams to facilitate validation of the design and come up with alternate designs solutions for the THERMAL related components or subsystems.
- Work closely with the component supplier to qualify the components or subsystem and work with manufacturing team for the various builds as per the product development lifecycle
- Independently participate in large Program Design Reviews representing the component or subsystem.
- Specialist in core domain areas. Ability to give fair estimates.
- Build and execute validation plans.
- Review test/evaluation data, derive conclusion, suggest opportunities and next course of action. Proactively considers means of setting success milestones by accurate test planning
- Mentors team to improve learning
- Have Complete design ownership for the REFRIGERATION project
- Excellent understanding of design, development and validation of VAPOR COMPRESSION SYSTEMS
- EXP working with system and component level Agency requirements for THERMAL SUBSYSTEMS, not limited to but comprising of UL, IEC standards
- Component level design simulation using tools for HEAT EXCHANGERS, METERING DEVICES etc
- EXP in selections and sizing based on reliability requirements for sealed system or heating components.
- Basic understanding of alternative REFRIGERATION technologies (Thermoelectric, Absorption systems, Stirling engines etc.) would be an added advantage.
- Work on medium to high complexity projects with end-to-end project ownership of THERMAL/ REFRIGERATION subsystem and interactions.
- Based on product specification, develop concept design, conduct design calculations
- EXP working with design simulations (like CFD, load calculations, sizing & selection)
- Drives DESIGN OPTIMIZATION & helps build design alternates based on foreseeable design limitations
- Leverages experience to build design as per prevailing manufacturing processes
- Visualizes product as whole. Understands different component interactions & derives component behavior scenarios.
- Experience with working with HYDROCARBON REFRIGERANTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Masters' Degree in relevant engineering domain (RAC, Thermal, Heat Power etc.) - preferred
- 8-14 years of ENGINEERING EXP with minimum 5years of relevant Design and Development of REFRIGERATION or other THERMAL ENGINEERING projects.
- Lead More than 5 projects end to end of medium/high complexity (involving Selection/Design Conceptualization, Evaluation and Site Implementation/ Manufacturing transfer)
