    Description

    SummaryReporting to the Head of Finance, Group Financial Controller this position will work closely with the regional Finance team to lead and manage multiple operations of the tax practice area and to deliver quality tax services, that will increase Blue leaf Energy reputation.

    In addition, this position develops tax strategies and policies that help the business to maintain compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulations.

    Job ResponsibilitiesTax ComplianceOversee and manage all aspects of Indirect Tax filings, Income Tax, Business & Property Tax for Blue leaf GroupEnsure accurate, timely preparation and filing of monthly Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions in partnership with external tax advisorsManage Income Tax reporting by supporting data requests for estimated payments and Annual filing with tax advisorsAssist in quarterly tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosuresMonitor changes in indirect tax laws and regulations, ensuring ongoing complianceCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for tax reportingReview and reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepanciesMonitor and ensure adherence to internal tax policies and proceduresProviding innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax returnsConduct internal tax reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvementTax StrategyProvide recommendations for tax planning and structure, considering both Gst and income tax implicationsProvide guidance on GST tax issues related to product and service offeringsIdentify potential tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposureAdvise on the implications of business decisions on tax liabilities and risksTax Audits and InvestigationsAct as the primary point of contact for GST/VAT tax audits and inquiriesRespond to tax audits, inquiries, and investigations from tax authoritiesPrepare documentation, communicate with auditors, and resolve tax-related issues to ensure favorable outcomesDevelop and implement strategies to minimize audit exposureQualifications and ExperienceQualified Chartered AccountantA robust background in public accounting with at least 4 years of experienceDemonstrated ability to lead and manage teams and multiple projects and clientsHigh proficiency with tax, accounting, and office softwareExpertise in tax code, compliance and procedures with business clientsExperience working in the energy, power, utilities, industrial sector, with a good understanding of project life cycle from development, execution and to asset management an added advantage.
