Counterparty Portfolio Management (CPM) Valuation Risk Control role provides a combination of people management, technical excellence and market knowledge.

Valuation Risk and Control (VRC) is primarily responsible for executing the independent Inventory Valuation control aspects of Product Control's primary role as the financial guardians of the Bank's sales and trading activities.

This requires oversight and supervision of VC responsibilities which include formulating and conducting independent price verification processes.

Other responsibilities include:

Building trusted relationship with key stakeholders from business and regional perspective. This role has global coverage and requires frequent and effective communication with multiple stakeholders.
Reviewing and challenging the reasonableness of proxies chosen by the CPM desk in the modelling of counterparty credit risk.
Providing timely and thorough analysis and commentary for price testing and performing unauthorized trading detection controls.
Validating the rationale of financial and regulatory valuation adjustments
Conducting Fair Value Measurement analysis and advisory
Supporting new product and new business reviews by providing valuation control opinion
Reviewing appropriateness of valuation methodology and ensure that trades are valued using approved valuation methodology
Contributing to valuation governance processes in conjunction with other key functions such as Quantitative Strategists, Market & Liquidity Risk Management and Valuation Risk Group.

This valuation control role supports the global Counterparty Portfolio Management desk.

The person will join a Pune team of 3 and will be reporting to a local AVP based in Pune.

You Offer

23 years of experience in a Valuation Control, Risk or Product Control related function
Outstanding communication skills, able to articulate complex issues clearly and succinctly to senior management
Business partnership skills and experience in valuation control Target Operating Model design and implementation
Ability to partner across regional teams and with senior stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives
Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
Strong Excel Skills
High level of integrity and accountability with a strong sense of urgency and resultsorientation
