Description

The CNC/VMC (Computer Numerical Control/Vertical Machining Center) Head of Department is responsible for overseeing and managing the CNC/VMC operations in the steel manufacturing industry.

This role involves supervising a team of CNC/VMC operators, ensuring efficient production, and maintaining high quality standards. The Head of Department is also responsible for optimizing processes, coordinating with other departments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Key responsibilities:


Department Management:

  • Oversee CNC/VMC operations and manage a team of operators.
  • Set department goals, monitor progress, and drive efficiency.

Production Planning and Execution:

  • Develop production plans and schedules based on customer orders.
  • Ensure availability of materials and equipment for uninterrupted production.
  • Monitor progress and implement quality control measures.

Machine Programming and Optimization:

  • Review and optimize CNC/VMC programs for improved efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design teams for optimized component designs.
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans for machines.

Continuous Improvement and Process Enhancement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and new technologies.
  • Provide training opportunities for skill enhancement.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary measures.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in CNC/VMC machining operations within the steel manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC programming, machining techniques, and tooling.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for program development and optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in machining environments.

Salary:
₹100, ₹150,000.00 per month
