Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, and manage all operations related to Iron Making, including MBF, Sinter Plant, PCI, Crushing, and Raw Material Handling Systems.
• Oversee material selection planning to optimize production.
• Provide technical and operational support to Maintenance activities for Iron Making division (Electrical and Mechanical).
• Ensure optimum quality hot metal production at the lowest cost while maximizing output.
• Manage overall cost control and effective resource utilization to ensure quality, productivity, and profitability.
• Drive technical innovations, modifications, and changes in Iron Making processes.
• Lead and manage a team of managers and a large execution team.
• Translate annual Blast Furnace production plans into material requirements and ensure optimal shop loading to meet production timelines.
• Ensure availability of hot metal to NOF/BOF units as per requirements and timely Blast Furnace maintenance.
• Achieve production targets by meeting delivery, quality, and profitability goals through optimum resource utilization.
• Control and stabilize processes to attain rated capacity throughput and minimize operational delays.
• Maximize plant and equipment availability by proactively identifying and resolving obstructions and breakdowns.
• Identify bottlenecks, propose debottlenecking and plant improvement schemes, obtain approvals, and implement solutions.
• Create infrastructure and streamline process flow to support higher production.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions related to material non-conformity.
• Coordinate with Electrical and Mechanical departments for planned maintenance activities.
• Plan and budget departmental activities, allocate funds, and guide cost reduction initiatives.
• Drive inventory management and cost control focusing on raw materials, spares, production cost reduction, energy conservation, and procurement efficiency.
• Coordinate with procurement to reduce costs and delivery timelines.
• Drive Quality Assurance practices to ensure consistent product quality.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, manuals, and work instructions; foster a disciplined, healthy, and safe working environment.
• Oversee the implementation of Quality Management System, Environmental Management System, and OHSAS standards.
• Lead organizational development initiatives such as capability building, succession planning, and talent management.

MIS and Reporting:

• Review and verify reports generated by the team.
• Analyze reports and present findings to top management through presentations.
• Update management on plant activities and issues.
• Conduct daily team meetings to discuss agendas.
• Benchmark performance against process parameters and operational costs.

Team Management & Safety Compliance:

• Collaborate with the Safety team to ensure a safe working environment and zero accidents.
• Engage and plan manpower allocation effectively; recommend hiring or reduction as needed.
• Set ambitious targets for the team and monitor performance regularly.
• Identify and coordinate employee training needs with HR.
• Delegate tasks, coordinate activities, and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Foster a positive and disciplined work environment.
• Provide ongoing coaching and guidance to team members.
