    Description

    Operations Management

    • Oversee melt shop and caster operations, including Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, Corex, Steel Melting Plant (Caster & EAF), and commissioned LRF and Vacuum Degassing units.
    • Manage planning, operations, ladle management, quality, safety, and breakdown management for EOF, LRF, VD, and CCM as Senior Shift In-charge.
    • Liaise with various agencies to ensure smooth production and resolve operational issues.
    • Develop technology charts for various alloy steel grades.
    • Coordinate shutdown activities of Steel Melt Shop with multiple departments.
    • Manage steel melt shop project lifecycle: monitoring, execution, erection, commissioning, start-up, and production.
    • Handle production planning, quality assurance, profitability analysis, budgeting, and cost optimization.
    • Plan manpower, training, CAPEX, fixed and variable costs for iron zone projects.

    Project Management

    • Lead greenfield and brownfield projects in core industries, ensuring completion within time and budget constraints.
    • Finalize technical specifications, issue enquiries, evaluate offers, conduct techno-commercial discussions, place orders, and plan projects.
    • Supervise project execution, material procurement, vendor development, and equipment installation & commissioning.
    • Manage spares and refurbishment equipment for Blast Furnace, Sinter Plant, HBI, EAF, and Caster projects.
    • Oversee material handling equipment projects including Barge Unloaders, Grab Buckets, EOT Cranes, and Gantry Cranes.

    Plant Engineering & Upgradation

    • Execute plant upgradation, debottlenecking, and expansion projects aimed at increasing production capacity.
    • Optimize equipment layout during engineering to minimize piping, improve drainage, and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Develop and manage systems integrating people and materials for efficient, safe, and timely project completion.

    Strategic Planning & Cost Control

    • Formulate strategic plans to meet project completion targets and reduce costs.
    • Innovate project execution methods to avoid schedule and budget overruns without compromising quality.
    • Source alternative indigenous materials to reduce project cost and timelines.

    Installation & Commissioning

    • Supervise installation, commissioning, and trial runs of plant equipment ensuring performance targets are met.
    • Identify bottlenecks during projects and implement corrective actions.
    • Ensure effective site management, discipline, safety, and timely project delivery.

    Quality Assurance

    • Mentor and guide quality-related activities and resolve routine and non-routine issues with cross-functional teams.
    • Conduct internal audits, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and reviews to maintain ISO 9000 standards.
    • Train teams on quality tools, process improvement, and stability enhancement.

    Contract & Coordination Management

    • Prepare technical requisitions and tender documents.
    • Evaluate technical offers, conduct techno-commercial negotiations, and finalize contracts aligned with project schedules.
    • Manage techno-commercial disputes and clarifications during project execution.
    • Network with consultants and maintain relationships with statutory authorities for required approvals.

    Manpower & Team Management

    • Lead, mentor, and monitor team performance to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of targets.
    • Ensure adherence to quality procedures and foster a harmonious work environment.
    • Resolve interpersonal conflicts and encourage team collaboration.

    Soft Skills
