Reviews and evaluates existing policies and procedures and work methods by periodic and special studies and directs implementation of improved work methods and procedures to ensure achievement of set objectives.

• Coordinates and integrates the total functional activity of the hospital.
• Develops standards and methods for measurement of hospital activities.
• Ensures information dissemination of hospital policies and procedures to all level of staff.
• Meets with department heads and coordinates the activities of the various departments.
• Acts as liaison between medical professionals and the governing in matters of hospital operations and clinical care.
• Ensures highest level of quality care to the patient.
• Responsible for conducting Medical audit.
• Co-ordinates with medico legal consultants as and when necessary.
• Develops and arranges training program for different employees with the coordination of departmental heads.
• Recommends prizes and awards for the employees.
• Determines organizational lines of authority and fixes areas of responsibility.
• Selects and recruits departmental heads.
