    About the Role

    As a Data Engineer in the Data Portfolio you will be responsible for designing and creating data processing solutions that enable value from analytic models to drive rapid decision making.

    A key element of this is driving the data engineering agenda within the Tribe, ensuring delivery of best practice end-to-end data engineering respecting ANZ architecture standards. You will challenge inefficient engineering practise in ANZ and influence change in your field to drive better business outcomes. To this end, in the role you will implement smart and relevant data engineering to drive E2E application delivery and support the uplift of data engineering capability in Tribe, while linking into the wider Enterprise Analytics roadmap.

    What will your day look like?

    A day in the life of a Data Engineer

  • Engineer efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines
  • Working in a cross skilled squad with people both from business and technology to build intuitive data products
  • Work on diverse data technologies such as Spark, Trino and Airflow

    • What will you bring?

    To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • MS or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or 2-3 years of practical experience in Data Engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Scala, Pyspark).
  • Comfortable with complex SQL
  • Background in distributed data processing, software engineering of data services, or data modeling.
  • Familiar with working within cross-functional, agile, or continuous delivery teams.
  • Conceptually familiar with cloud resources such as S3 and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with migration to Cloud Technologies will be an added advantage.
  • Familiar with engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on large-scale datasets (e.g., Spark, Trino, Airflow).
