Job Profile:

The job involves conducting Investment banking financial research to support clients and contribute to the internal knowledge building efforts. Typical projects will involve gathering, analyzing, synthesizing and presenting data using structured methodologies, assumptions, and frameworks. Projects may take couple of days to several weeks for completion.


Key responsibilities involve:

Analytical Excellence:


  • Build or assist in building and maintaining Investment Banks benchmarking models to estimate granular, product level key performance metrics and create market size estimates for Global Markets products
  • Update and restructure benchmarking models based on qualitative and quantitative information from Coalition Greenwich contacts in the IB industry
  • Explain, defend, and customize Coalition Greenwich analysis to support key client initiatives in strategy, sales franchise decision, investor communication and for senior management consumption
  • Model relationships between macroeconomic indicators and performance metrics to arrive at forecasts/ estimates

Execution Excellence & Stakeholder Management:

  • Craft effective search strategies and gather relevant information leveraging a broad set of resources
(e.g. on-line databases, internet articles, external researchers etc.). Utilize both secondary and primary research sources and techniques

  • Assist clients and/or other research delivery team members in articulating and refining research requests and projects, while working on multiple projects
  • Complete ad hoc research requests, knowledge building and business development projects as necessary
  • Communicate research results through the creation of structured endproducts (spreadsheets, reports, presentations etc.)
  • Conduct regular workflow meetings with the in house and onsite Account managers in London, New York and Singapore

  • Foster a cohesive, creative and comfortable working environment, mediating any personal issue within the team
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of team members providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
  • Manage and/ or work with an expanded team of analysts while working on multiple projects
  • Leading process improvement, skill development, technology/tool development initiatives
  • Mentor and train new research analysts

Required Experience and Skills:


  • MBA or post graduate degree in finance, business management, statistics, economics or similar analytical fields.
  • Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA etc. would be an added advantage
  • Strong quantitative skills, an analytical & logical mindset and an ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative
  • Sound knowledge of Corporate and & Investment Banking Industry (IBD, FICC, Equities, Transaction Banking, Securities Services) required to effectively contribute to analytics development
  • A proven ability to manage multiple work streams and organise matrixed resources in order to meet tight and/or changing deadlines
  • Responsible attitude and ability to complete tasks proactively and in a timely manner
(both for self and the team)

  • Ability to take decisions while working with unstructured and limited information
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in managing a team size of 5 to
  • Prior experience in financial research / analytics
  • A strong degree of independence and selfmotivation
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
  • Excellent working skills with MS Office tools, especially good at advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of professional information services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters etc. preferred
