Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced South Indian Chef to join our culinary team.

As a South Indian Chef, you will be responsible for creating authentic and delicious South Indian dishes while ensuring high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.

Your expertise in traditional South Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavors will be essential in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and cook a variety of South Indian dishes including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, biryanis, and other regional specialties.
  • Develop and execute recipes with authentic South Indian flavors, while also accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Manage inventory levels of ingredients, spices, and other kitchen supplies necessary for South Indian cuisine.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, including proper storage, handling, and cooking temperatures.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate cooking schedules and maintain efficient workflow in the kitchen.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in South Indian cooking techniques, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Stay updated on current food trends, ingredients, and cooking techniques related to South Indian cuisine.
  • Monitor food quality and consistency to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following established cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, suggesting new South Indian dishes or variations to enhance the menu offerings.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen and timely service.
  • Handle special requests or customizations from customers with professionalism and attention to detail.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or Cook in a restaurant or culinary setting, with a strong focus on South Indian cuisine.
  • In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, spices, ingredients, and flavors.
  • Ability to prepare a wide range of South Indian dishes with consistency and authenticity.
  • Excellent culinary skills and creativity in recipe development and presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with experience in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen.
  • Leadership abilities to train and supervise kitchen staff effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certification from a culinary institute or relevant training in South Indian cuisine is a plus.

Salary:
₹18, ₹20,000.00 per month
